Maar wat betekend dit nou allemaal? Momenteel is online gokken of wedden nog altijd verboden in Nederland. De overheid wil namelijk Nederlandse spelers beschermen tegen malafide online casino\u2019s en gokverslavingen. Daarnaast loopt de overheid heel wat geld mis en willen ze fraude en criminaliteit tegengaan.<\/h4>\n<p>Daarom heeft de overheid besloten zelf de touwtjes in handen te nemen. Per 1 januari 2021 treedt de Wet Kansspelen op Afstand in werking. Wat houdt deze wet in?<\/p>\n<p>Kort gezegd, betekent dit dat online gokken legaal wordt. Vanaf 1 januari 2021 zal de overheid vergunningen gaan verstrekken aan online casino\u2019s. Er wordt verwacht dat er tussen de 80 en 100 licenties zullen worden afgegeven aan bestaande en nieuwe online casino\u2019s. Om legaal te kunnen gokken, moeten spelers nog wachten tot 1 juli 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Om een licentie te kunnen ontvangen, moeten online casino\u2019s <strong>aan heel wat eisen voldoen<\/strong>.
